We've arrived

Hey Hey from sunny Verona,
It's curiously like Hawke's Bay here. Stunning blue sky, relatively warm and there is even the biggest wine festival in Europe on in town this weekend. We arrived late last night and lying flat in a bed never felt so good! I have done the rounds of three campuses this morning, signing various forms, meeting various people and doing official type things. The Head of School welcomed me and advised me to work and hard and not drink too much! Sound advice I'm sure!! Have been to see one studio apartment - true Italian style. Top floor, wooden beams, 1 small window, and a pull-out bed. Lack of light would do my head in! We are looking at a one-bedroom on Monday, so fingers crossed. Am out at the Uni now, already reading papers and taken part in an interesting meeting (half in English, half in Italian)about a research project I am helping with which starts on Monday - nothing like diving in at the deep end! Have had a coffee out of a vending machine - NZ needs some of these - I'm certainly no coffee xpert, but even I enjoyed it! Between that and the chocolate, I think I will pretty wired all afternoon (of course I couldn't walk past choc shelf at the supermarket without just a little bit, what do you think I am?). James has taken off for his IFSC meeting, so I have the weekend to explore on my own. Will take some pics and put them up Sunday/next week for you all. Might try finding the bouldering wall of course.
Ciao
